What a nice surprise for hungry and tired hikers! It was still a sunny day and we decided to sit outside and bask in the sun. For starters spinach dumplings with feta cheese and main dish consisted of pork chops, with mashed potatoes, sunny side up eggs and a salad. It was all delicious and much needed to replenish the energy. The staff was very friendly and made sure we all got our food at the same time. Thumbs up!!!!
Quite conveniently, if you are ending your hike, restaurant is at the end of the trail. The food was great and service was very nice. So I guess, I could easily recommend this place as start or ending point of your trip.
Service was far from good with long wait time even though the restaurant was empty. Duck was delicious, pork knuckle was not at all worth the waiting time (1h). Not recommended, there are better places nextdoor
The rather small menu (literally, 10-15 entries) did not contain all the options that were, apparently, available for ordering. Don’t be confused by millions of different photos, maybe they are very specific to the season, hour, day of the week, or the phase of the moon. We asked for what we saw at other tables and then we were told that we could order that ourselves. However, the size of the portion was smaller, because, it seems, they did not have enough glasses of that size. The dessert with apples and ice cream was a nice surprise, I would recommend it. We ordered a casserole but it was missing one of three ingredients that were explicitly mentioned in the menu – be careful.
The waiting time to get the food was in general rather long. This was when more than half of the places were empty. The waiter was very polite and helped us to understand several unknown words in the menu and translated them for us, thank you, mister.
The place itself is warm and looks cozy and clean. The only surprising moment was when a lady entered with a huge dog, which was allowed to sit inside the (rather small) building between other tables. I am not sure, whether this should be treated as good because of the respect for that lady (and some happy kids) or as bad because other people were forced to have the dog’s company, but be careful, again.
Overall, if you are hungry and like to chitchat, then I would go there. But if you want something more, maybe look for alternatives.
As foreigners, We felt really welcome. We were the only one in the restaurant along with one more table. We got great recommendations from the chef and we were pleasantly surprised!! The food was nicer that we thought it would be and even the presentation of it was great.
