Lovely food in an independent restaurant. Brilliant vegan option of classic Polish dish. Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Will be back! Only a short tram ride away from the centre.
Absolutely love this hidden gem! The staff were very welcoming and friendly, spoke a little bit of English too. The restaurant has a very homely vibe and while the menu is somewhat limited, it’s so good! The food is so delicious and well priced. There are some sodas you can order, a tea and coffee (not barista made).
Really good vegan restaurant in the center of Poznan. The menu offers both good salads and bread with only vegan options. The stuff is also really nice.
If you are hankering for a meaty and cheesy perfectly-toasted vegan sandwich, longer and thicker than your forearm, and costing around 6 bucks, GranVegano is the place to come!
The specialty here is called zapiekanki, a street food that originated in 1970s Poland when the government decided to allow small business. Since meat was scarce, the traditional zapiekanka consisted of a toasted open-face baguette topped with white mushrooms and cheese. As time passed and Poland shifted more to free market economics, meats like salami became common toppings.
GranVegano has veganized this classic meal and offers about ten variations, plus a few more seasonal options. They also offer a couple of salads. I find the Greek zapiekanka with vegan feta cheese especially tasty. The place is owned by a husband and wife, and the guy speaks good English. They keep the place clean, and it’s a pleasant spot for a meal. If you’re visiting Poznań, it’d be a shame to miss out on this uniquely Polish vegan meal offering unbeatable flavor and value.
